Locality Poľana is located near the village Nová Sedlica at an altitude of 430 m above sea level. It is located about 1.5 kilometers from the village. You can get to it on an asphalt road. It is a frequent place of rest not only for tourists. There is also a wooden shelter by the local pond, which with greater happiness will also offer you a view of some aquatic animals. Its construction was carried out by the local government. Tourists will often find a roof over their head, who have enjoyed beautiful views from the nearby Riabej skaly or the Stužica forest located on the route to the three-border point Kremenec. Just below the Riaba rock, the Zbojský stream flowing near Poľana springs, on which you will also find a few hardy in the summer. The water in it has a low temperature even during the hottest days, so it has a very refreshing effect after a long hike.
You can take a very simple hike with them along the asphalt road to the Honey Baby meadow - the route there and back can take you 2.5 to 3 hours while walking peacefully. There you will find a seven-meter high wooden sculpture and a log apiary. Both buildings are a memorial to the bustling beekeeper Žofia Maťašovská, who moved to Nová Sedlice in 1928. She took care of about 80 hives and her quality honey was also taken by chocolate factories in Kolín.
Be sure not to miss a visit to the pond on the Zbojský stream, which is only a short walk from Medová baba. You are still walking a little uphill on a paved road. Unreal views of the surrounding nature will open up for you.
