The Cycle route in the town of Humenné
For lovers of cycling, we present the cycle route in the town of Humenné (green sign, no. 5856) with a length of approximately 24 km and an elevation gain of 285 m. The surface of the road is mostly asphalt and unpaved surfaces.
The start of the route is in front of the Leisure Center "Dúha". It is located on the South Square in Humenné, not far from the related of the Eiffel Tower - the Valaškovský most bridge, through which the cycle route passes. We continue to the village of Jasenov, above which the ruins of the castle of the same name stand out. The road surface is asphalt flat terrain. Before the end of the village, we turn onto the yellow sign, which leads us along a field unpaved road to the village of Chlmec, where there used to be a ski lift.
We continue again on the asphalt road to the village of Ptičie, at the end of which the road surface changes again. We take a dirt road to the village of Kamienka, where there is a water treatment plant. From this village, we head again on the asphalt road to the village of Kamenica nad Cirochou. In front of us is about a 1.5 km long transfer to Hažín nad Cirochou on a busy first-class road. In the village of Hažín, we descend from the road into the fields and head for the river Cirocha, which is crossed by a suspension bridge resembling the Golden Gate Bridge. On the other bank is the village of Lackovce.
We continue to Humenné town. On the left, we can see the recreation area L.A. with an organic swimming pool. We continue straight along the road, over the bridge and we cross the railway. We enter Humenné and along Osloboditeľov Street we move to the center of the town, where we can visit a unique open-air museum with a wooden church, the first object in the museum. They brought it there from the village of Nová Sedlica, where its miniature is located.
