The Icon cyclo route Nová Sedlica - Inovce
The Icon cyclo route no. 2875 (blue mark) connects unique wooden temples located in the districts of Snina and Sobrance. It starts in the easternmost Slovak village of Nová Sedlica. In its center, you can observe a miniature of the wooden church of St. Michal Archangel, which was transferred to the open-air museum in the Humenné town in 1974. From this place, we can continue our journey to the village of Zboj. It used to be a wooden temple there. You can currently see it in the open-air museum of the Bardejov Spa. The next stop is the village of Uličské Krivé. The temple building cannot be overlooked on the main road. Did you know that there is also a tomb of father Ignatij Čokina nearby?
On the route of the cycle path, you can also observe a mini-gallery of wooden temples in the village of Ulič. From the main road, you can go to the temples in the village of Ruský Potok, Topoľ, and Jalová. After passing the village of Stakčín, you will head towards the Ukrainian state border. However, you will not follow the first-class road, but you will turn left to the Kalná Roztoka village, where is located the so-called "temple in a fur coat". It has such a name because it is plastered inside and out with clay plaster.
We continue in the direction to the village of Ubľa, where we will turn to the village of Dúbrava. In this village, we turn to the Šmigovec village and the Hrabová Roztoka village, where Greek Catholic wooden temples await us. The penultimate stop of the cycle path is the church in the village of Ruská Bystrá, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. At the end, we can visit the wooden temple in the village of Inovce.
The length of the route is 79 km without and 114 km with road turns.
