Church of the Sacred Heart
of Jesus in the village of Trepec
The church located on the bank of the Domaša reservoir is a remnant of the defunct village of Trepec. It was built at the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century in the spirit of East Slovak classicist sacral buildings. It consists of a single-nave space with a round presbytery closure. It is located between the recreation centers Dobrá and Valkov.
The interior of the temple is in good condition, although it was never reconstructed. The building is used annually for services during the indulgence ceremony, which takes place in June. For tourists, it is accessible via a forest road from RA Dobrá or Valkov or by boat. Since 2019, those who are interested can also see this exceptional building from the water, from the deck of the cruise ship Bohemia.
